Republican Poll Worker Pleads Guilty to Election Interference Charges in Georgia

A Republican poll worker in Georgia pleaded guilty to election interference charges on Thursday. The poll worker, who has not been named, was accused of working with pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell to tamper with voting machines in Coffee County, Georgia.

The poll worker pleaded guilty to five misdemeanor conspiracy charges and will serve five years of probation. This is the first guilty plea in the Georgia election interference case.

The poll worker's plea deal comes as the Fulton County District Attorney's Office is investigating former President Donald Trump and his allies for their role in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. The District Attorney's Office has subpoenaed Trump and several of his allies, including Powell.

The poll worker's plea deal is a significant development in the Georgia election interference case. It is the first time that anyone has been convicted of a crime related to the case. The plea deal also suggests that the Fulton County District Attorney's Office is building a strong case against Trump and his allies.

The poll worker's plea deal is a reminder of the seriousness of the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. It is also a reminder that the Fulton County District Attorney's Office is committed to holding accountable those who tried to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
